I don’t believe in the idea of ‘broken people who need to be fixed.’ You’re not broken, you’re a person who has experienced pain and are learning how to heal and carry your pain differently. Healing and growth are part of being human and it doesn’t mean forgetting what hurt or discounting the impact—it means becoming someone new because of what you’ve learned along the way.

Growth Through Challenge: A New Way to Understand Healing

Many people come to therapy believing something is “wrong” with them or that they’re “broken.” But what if your pain isn’t a sign of damage—what if it’s a signal that you’ve been through something difficult, and your mind and body adapted the best they could at the time? Always remember, you’re not broken and learning how to heal isn’t about going back to who you were before. It’s about becoming someone new—someone wiser, stronger, self-compassion and more self-aware—because of what you’ve faced. Growth doesn’t mean the hard things disappear; it means they stop defining you, allowing for emotional healing and personal growth.

The truth is, struggle is part of being human. None of us get through life without loss, change, disappointment, or pain. These experiences aren’t signs that you’re failing, but they’re signs that you’re living. They can become powerful opportunities for healing, growth, and resilience, and can even be sources of strength when facing future difficulties.

Instead of seeing healing as a one-time fix, I see it as a process. Growth doesn’t have a neat endpoint. It’s messy, unfolding, and deeply personal. It doesn’t mean you never struggle again. It means you learn to meet yourself differently when you do, embracing both healing and moments of growth, underscoring the notion that you’re not broken.

Honouring Your Journey

When we shift the story—from “I’m broken” to “I’m growing through this”—something powerful happens. We move from shame to self-compassion. From passivity to agency. We start to trust our own capacity to navigate hard things and foster healing and growth within ourselves.

I’m here to honour the ways you survived, and explore how you can grow stronger from what you’ve experienced. Struggle is not a flaw, it’s part of what makes us human. Together we’ll create space for healing that is rooted in compassion, connection, and the belief that learning to heal comes through, not around difficulty. So, if you’re in a hard season, please know: you’re not broken. You’re becoming. And that’s a story of healing and growth, and worth honouring.

If you’re struggling with feelings of brokenness, we offer individual therapy in-person, and online, and together we can work towards reframing your brokenness to opportunities of healing and growth.

If you’re struggling with brokenness in your relationship, we offer couples therapy that can be designed to meet you where you are at and address your specific needs in your relationship.

We look forward to connecting!
